Description
15" (23 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with oval face and elongated throat,painted pale blue upper glancing eyes,red and black upper eyeliner,single stroke brown brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with wide center accent line. She has a muslin stitch-jointed body with bisque lower limbs,painted flat black shoes,and wears a wonderful antique gown and undergarments. Her sculpted soft brown hair is arranged in deeply waved curls away from the face,a ringlet curl tumbling just above each partially sculpted ear,and finished with an extraordinary arrangement of braided loops and coils at the back of her head. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany,attributed to Conta & Boehme,circa 1870. Value Points: extremely rare model with exquisitely painted facial features,complexion,and extraordinary coiffure.
