Description
16" (41 cm.) Paper-Mache shoulder head of adult
lady with very slender heart-shaped face and
elongated throat,black glass eyes,painted upper
lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth with center accent line. She
has her original muslin body with wooden lower
limbs,green scalloped paper edging between muslin
and wooden body parts,and is wearing a fine sheer
muslin gown with transfer printed design,and
undergarments. Her sculpted black hair is
center-parted and waved back in very full curls
away from her face,captured in large rolled curls
at the back surmounted by a braid. Condition:
generally excellent,one horizontal craze line at
back shoulder plate. Comments: Germany,circa 1850.
Value Points: rare glass eyes,unusual coiffure and
presence on the all-original doll.
