Description
19" (48 cm.) Paper-mache shoulder head with
oval-shaped face,elongated throat,large painted
very dark eyes with sculpted eye
sockets,delicately outlined eyes,feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with accent
line,and blushed cheeks. Her sculpted black
center-parted hair is combed smoothly to the head
just to the ears,then forms into four
extended-length finger curls that tumble onto the
shoulders,and is wound into a coiled chignon at
the back of her head with decoratively sculpted
comb. Her slender kid body with wooden limbs and
painted red shoes is garbed in an original dress
of embroidered tulle over blue sateen under-dress
and matching pantalets. Condition: face,hair and
body excellent,heavy craquelure and flake on
shoulder plate. Comments: Germany,circa 1850.
