Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,rounded facial shape,cobalt
blue glass eyes with encircling eyeliner,painted
lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth with outlined lips,partially
sculpted ears,later muslin stitch-jointed body
with porcelain lower limbs,and wearing fine
antique costume. Her sculpted blonde hair is
arranged with curls framing the forehead,and
generous multi-layered finger curls overall the
back of her head and peeking out at the
sides,captured by a black hair ribbon with bow at
the crown Condition: generally excellent.
Comments: attributed to Simon and
Halbig,Germany,circa 1870. Value Points: rarity
factors include swivel head,glass eyes,and very
ornate coiffure with black sculpted ribbon.
