Description
12" (30 cm.) Paper-mache shoulder head depicting a
lady with slender oval face,elongated
throat,sculpted black center-parted hair drawn
into very long curls that frame the face and
throat,looping gracefully under the ears and
forming into a very tight chignon at the back of
her head,painted black upper glancing eyes,closed
mouth with piquant smile,slender kid body with
wooden limbs. Condition: generally excellent,paint
rubs on wooden limbs. Comments: Germany,circa
1840. Value Points: unusual variation of #31 with
tiny centered facial features,exaggerated style of
classic coiffure,fully sculpted ears,slightly
modeled bosom,and wearing her original cotton
print dress.
