11" (28 cm.) Paper-mache shoulder head of adult
lady with oval-shaped face,black sculpted
center-part hair combed smoothly at the sides into
a loop that curls under her ears and forms into a
narrow double-braid chignon at the back,with
decorative comb centered on the chignon,painted
blue eyes,closed mouth with shaded lips,slender
kid body with wooden lower limbs,painted green
shoes. She is wearing her factory-original cotton
undergarments,and antique two-piece cotton plaid
gown. Condition: very good,features slightly
faded. Comments: Germany,circa 1840,the doll has a
sculpted coiffure made popular by the young Queen
Victoria at the time of her 1837 coronation. Value
Points: rare early model has original complexion
and painting.
