Description
19" (48 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady
with oval shaped face and elongated strong
throat,painted blue upper glancing eyes with heavy
eyelids,red and black upper eyeliner,single stroke
brows,slightly upturned nose with accented
nostrils,and closed mouth with center accent line.
She has a muslin stitch-jointed body with kid
arms,and is wearing an antique purple sateen gown.
Her black sculpted hair is combed smoothly around
her face with wide poufs at the sides,then
captured in a loose thick braid that forms a halo
at the back of her head,and finishes in a very
long narrow braid that is zig-zagged into an
intricate arrangement at the back. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1860.
Value Points: rare early model with particularly
beautiful face,well-defined sculpting of eyes,nose
