Description
14" (36 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head depicting an
adult lady with oval face and elongated
throat,painted small blue eyes,red and black upper
eyeliner,single stroke brows,and closed mouth with
hint of smile. She has an early muslin
stitch-jointed body with porcelain lower
limbs,painted black flat shoes,and wears an
antique calico gown and undergarments. Her black
sculpted hair is center-parted with one long
ringlet curl on either side of her throat,and a
sculpted snood that captures the remainder of her
hair at the back,decorated with sculpted tassels
and crown bow. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: 70 (ink) Y/Z1 (inscribed inside plate).
Comments: Germany,circa 1870,a smaller version of
#117. Value Points: rare model with sweet
expression,unusual coiffure.
