Description
21" (53 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult
woman with oval-shaped face,very elongated
patrician throat,painted blue upper glancing
eyes,red and black upper eyeliner,black single
stroke brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth with slightly upturned lip
edges,and fully-sculpted ears. She has a later
muslin stitch-jointed body with porcelain
limbs,painted flat black shoes,and wears a bronze
green silk satin gown and under garments. Her
black sculpted hair is brushed away from her face
with stippling details around the forehead,behind
her ears,into wide poufs,and then gathered into a
voluminous rolled curl at the back that is held by
a sculpted hair band. Condition: faint hairline
at back right shoulder plate,some typical paint
rubs in hair,otherwise excellent. Comments:
Germany,circa 1875. Value Points: rare coiffure
enhances her patrician demeanor and proud stance;
she owns three blue ribbon awards from national
UFDC conventions.
