Description
17" (43 cm.) Thick paste porcelain shoulder head
of adult lady with slender face and elongated
throat,lightly-tinted complexion,painted blue
upper-glancing eyes,red upper
eyeliner,lightly-feathered brows,accented
nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with center
accent line. The sculpted hair,of a rich brown
color,is center-parted and looped in front and
over the ears forming into a loosely-coiled
chignon at the back of her head. A ringlet curl
falls from the chignon behind each ear,with
enhancing stippled detail at its tip. She has an
old muslin body and porcelain limbs with painted
pink heeled shoes,and is wearing a fine brown and
cream patterned cotton dress and petticoats.
Condition: generally excellent,small chips at
front sew holes,light paint rub at back chignon.
Marks: (three blue lines and dot). Comments: Royal
Copenhagen of Denmark,circa 1855. Value Points:
very rare signed model whose rich brown hair is
enhanced with loose tendril curls.
