Description
21" (53 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady
with elongated throat and oval-shaped face,painted
pale blue eyes,red and black upper eyeliner,single
stroke brows,closed mouth with center accent
line,and fully sculpted ears. She has a muslin
stitch-jointed body with porcelain lower limbs,and
sewn-on striped stockings and muslin brown
shoes,and is wearing a fine antique cotton plaid
dress with handmade cording and undergarments. Her
black sculpted hair is arranged with seven very
high horizontal curls framing the sides and crown
of her head,with three ringlet "run-away" curls
falling onto her forehead,stippling detail curls
above her ears,and an elaborate arrangement at the
back resembling a flower with center and emanating
petals,two longer curls falling onto her back
shoulders. Condition: generally excellent,few
typical paint rubs. Comments: Germany,circa 1875.
Value Points: very rare and charming coiffure,fine
antique costume.
