Description
23" (58 cm.) Paper-Mache shoulder head depicting
an adult lady with perfectly oval face,elongated
strong throat with defined throat hollow,glass
enamel eyes,painted lashes and brows,and
primly-set closed lips. Her black sculpted hair is
arranged with center-part,two large finger curls
in front of each ear that frame the face; the
remainder of her hair is drawn smoothly into a
elaborately coiled double chignon at the crest.
Her body is a slender kid with wooden arms and
legs,painted red shoes,and she wears an antique
gown and undergarments. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1840. Value
Points: larger size,original body,enamel eyes,and
very elaborate coiffure. The doll was awarded a
blue ribbon at the UFDC National Convention in
Chicago.
