Description
16" (41 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head depicting an
adult lady with slender elongated face and
throat,painted blue upper glancing eyes,red and
black upper eyeliner,brown painted brows,accented
nostrils,and closed mouth with center accent line.
She has a muslin stitch-jointed body with leather
arms,and wears a lovely antique costume. Her
shaded brown/blonde hair is arranged in soft waves
away from her face,captured at the back by a
sculpted gilt-decorated black snood,and crowned
with a green head scarf and magenta plume.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Germany,circa 1870. Value Points: a rare variation
of the model known as Empress Eugenie,seldom found
in porcelain,and with unusual colors of hair and
hair decorations.
