Description
24" (61 cm.) Thick paste porcelain shoulder head of adult lady with slender oval face and elongated throat,defined throat hollow and eye sockets,outlined painted blue eyes,shaded grey upper eyeliner,feathered brows,aquiline nose,accent dots at eye corners and nostrils,closed mouth with very full outlined lips. She has black sculpted center-part hair waved back just at cheek bone level into deep loops over the ear tips and forming into a loosely bound chignon at the back of the head,with stippling detail at the nape. She has a muslin stitch-jointed body with porcelain limbs,painted flat rose shoes and green ribbon tied stockings,and is wearing a lovely antique rose taffeta jacket with Alencon black lace,rose satin skirt,undergarments,and antique cameo. Condition: generally excellent,right porcelain leg has hairlines. Marks: (two short green horizontal lines and one extended green vertical line,inside shoulder plate). Comments: mystery maker,in the KPM manner,circa 1850 Value Points: superb early porcelain with beautifully blushed detail on cheeks and chin,fully lips,defined eye sockets,maker_s mark. fine costume.
