Description
13" (33 cm.) Paper-mache shoulder head with
oval-shaped face,elongated throat,painted dark
blue eyes,painted upper eyeliner and brows,closed
mouth,and very elaborately sculpted black hair
having long tight braids that loop over each
ear,the remainder of hair drawn smoothly backward
into an arrangement of formed curls,braids and
decorative combs. The doll has a slender kid body
with wooden limbs,and painted yellow shoes,and is
wearing her original cotton dress with tiny
print,bone-shaped waist,petticoats and panties.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Germany,circa 1850. Value Points: unusually
elaborate coiffure for this smaller size,having
original finish,body,and costume. The doll carries
two award-winning ribbons.
