Description
14" (36 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady
with oval-shaped face,slightly elongated
throat,lightly pink-tinted complexion,painted
large blue eyes,red and black upper
eyeliner,single stroke brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with center accent line. She
has a muslin stitch-jointed body with porcelain
lower limbs,painted black flat shoes,and is
wearing an early cotton transfer print gown and
undergarments. Her black sculpted hair is arranged
with center-part,drawn smoothly around her face
with scalloped curls and captured at the crown and
back beneath a ruffled-edge white porcelain bonnet
with magenta ribbon that forms a bow at the nape.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Germany,circa 1860. Value Points: lovely serene
expression enhanced by fine lustrous patina,rare
sculpted bonnet.
