Description
14" (36 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady
with heart-shaped face,very elongated
throat, modeled throat and back shoulder hollows
and defined bosom, having painted grey eyes with
black and red upper eyeliner, lightly feathered
brows, aquiline nose with accent dots, and closed
mouth with center accent line. Her shaded brown
hair with striated detail of comb marks appears
simple at the front, softly waved backwards above
the fully-sculpted ears with one tumbling curl
onto the forehead, but then forms into a splendid
thick braided chignon at the back of her head with
"run-away" curls onto her nape. She has a
firmly-stuffed cotton sateen body and Kister
porcelain lower arms with expressive fingers and
is wearing a lovely folklore costume. Condition:
generally excellent,one finger tip chipped.
Comments: unmarked,attributed to A.W.Fr.
Kister,successor to Dressel & Kister,circa 1890.
Value Points: very rare model with outstanding
sculpture and decoration of hair, and compelling
serene expression.
