Description
10" (25 cm.) Pink-tinted porcelain shoulder head with perfectly oval face,elongated throat,hint of bosom,having downcast painted blue eyes with heavily modeled eyelids,red upper eyeliner,black eyeliner encircles the entire eyes,thick brows,accented nostrils,and closed mouth. She has a muslin body with porcelain lower limbs,painted flat black shoes,and a lovely antique costume. Her sculpted and painted grey hair is waved away from her face and captured under a magenta Charlotte bonnet with white edging and coronet,and decorated with painted flowers to suggest embroidery; one curl at the back has escaped from the cap. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Attributed to French production,circa 1870. Value Points: rare model with wonderful detail of hair and decorated bonnet.
