Description
18" (46 cm.) Lightly tinted porcelain shoulder
head of adult lady with heart-shaped face,very
elongated throat,painted delicate facial features
including shaded blue eyes,red and black upper
eyeliner,single stroke brows,aquiline nose with
accent dots,closed mouth with extended center
accent line,and fully sculpted ears. She has an
early muslin stitch-jointed body with porcelain
lower limbs,painted black flat shoes,and is
wearing an early transfer print cotton gown with
ribbon trim,and undergarments. Her black sculpted
hair is waved away from face in deeply comb-marked
waves that are held by a sculpted hair band and
enhanced with artistically painted stippling
all-around the forehead,a long ringlet curl behind
each ear that falls to the front or side of her
shoulders,and the back of her hair pulled up and
captured in an elaborate bouquet of ringlet curls
that tumble one on top of another. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1850.
Value Points: extremely rare model with superbly
sculpted hair and ears,beautiful painting of
features and complexion. The doll owns two blue
ribbon awards from UFDC conventions.
