Description
15" (38 cm.) head only. Porcelain shoulder head of
adult lady with heart-shaped face posed slightly
askance on strong elongated throat,with deeply
sloping shoulders and well defined modeled bosom
and cleavage. Her very heavily-lidded painted grey
eyes in intaglio-cut sockets have red and black
upper eyeliner and feathered brows,her aquiline
nose has accented nostrils and her full generous
mouth as a center accent line. She has a later
muslin body with Kister,porcelain arms,and wears a
fine antique dotted Swiss muslin gown. Her light
grey hair with defined striated painting is
brushed upward at front and back into a high crown
pouf and has two extended length ringlets onto the
shoulders. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:
(Kister blue symbol inside of shoulder plate).
Comments: A.W.Fr. Kister,successor to Dressel &
Kister,circa 1890. Value Points: unique model by
this firm with very distinctive portrayal and
superb modeling.
