Description
19" (48 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with lightly
tinted complexion,painted blue upper glancing
eyes,red and black upper eyeliner,single stroke
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth,and partially sculpted ears. She has a
muslin stitch-jointed body and leather arms with
stitched fingers,and is wearing a superb ivory
taffeta gown with mauve velvet
appliques,undergarments. Her sculpted black hair
is waved smoothly around the sides of her face and
captured under a sculpted gold snood with white
ruffled border that is decorated with gilding and
a cluster of purple grapes and leaves. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 8 (incised) TS 87 (ink
script inside head). Comments: Germany,circa 1860.
Value Points: rare model with superb detailing of
fancy snood,fine lustrous patina of porcelain.
