9" (23 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head,painted light brown baby hair and brows,tiny blue
glass sleep eyes,very delicately painted lashes,accented nostrils,closed mouth with fretful
expression,composition five piece baby body. Condition: generally excellent,some body retouch.
Marks: c. L. Amberg & Son Germany 2/0 K. Comments: the doll was designed by artist Jeno
Juszko for Amberg,copyrighted in 1914,and made from 1914- until about 1925; the model is
the first actual example of an infant child made in bisque. Value Points: rare doll with most
endearing expression,beautiful bisque,rarer composition body,beautiful lace dress and bonnet
appear to be store original.
