13" (33 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with sculpted light blonde boyish hair,intaglio side-
glancing blue eyes with white eye dots,black upper eyeliner,one-stroke brows,accented
nostrils,lips nearly closed with tiny "whistling" hole in center,muslin body with bellows in torso to
create whistle,composition arms,wearing antique corduroy and flannel suit,shoes. Condition:
generally excellent,whistle bellows needs repair. Marks: 3774 Heubach Germany. Comments:
Gebruder Heubach,circa 1910,the doll was marketed as "Whistling Jim". Value Points: appealing
character whose side-glancing flirtatious expression matches his name,original costume. The
doll appeared in Dolls,Images of Love by Selfridge
