17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,blue glass enamel inset eyes with thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with center accent line between the slightly smiling lips with upturned lip corners,ears pierced into head,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,all-wooden body with shapely torso,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,wrists,hips,knees and ankles,ball-swivel waist,scalloped-edge kid collarette,antique cotton day dress is included. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1867,with deposed body and early version of the smiling face model. Value Points: very beautiful poupee with fine quality of painting and bisque,original body finish with deluxe quality of sculpting,especially fingers and toes.
