18" (46 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with plump lower face,large blue glass paperweight
inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,dark curly lashes,brush-stroked brows,rose blushed eye
shadow,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the
outlined heart-shaped lips,pierced ears,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,French
composition fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent,body not original but of the
period and appropriate,flake at right pierced ear lobe. Marks: A 9 T. (head) Le Petit Parisien
(body). Comments: Thuillier,circa 1885. Value Points: beautifully defined facial features are
enhanced by clarity of paperweight eyes,fine delicate facial painting,wearing lovely pale green
cashmere wool bebe dress with Alencon lace,lace and ribbon bonnet,undergarments,knit
stockings,leather shoes. The doll is featured in Wendy and Friends by Selfridge,page
9,appropriately named "Joy" by the author/collector.
