All cloth doll with flat-dimensional face,oil painted facial features,complexion and hair,delicate dark blonde short curly hair,shaded large blue outlined eyes,one stroke brows,outlined nose,nicely shaped outlined lips,blushed cheeks,stitch-jointed body,wearing antique baby dress,undergarments,black leather shoes. Condition: very good,original painted finish with some fading to nice patina. Marks: Columbian Doll Emma E,. Adams Oswego Center New York (body stamp). Comments: Emma Adams,1893,the doll was Gold Medal winner at the 1893 Chicago World Exposition and became known as the "Columbian Doll". Value Points: very fine artistic painting of facial features on the rare to find doll.
