17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with flat-dimensional face and delicately hand-painted facial features
and curly hair,large outlined eyes with white eyedots,outlined nose,closed mouth with heart-
shaped upper lip,muslin stitch-jointed body,antique cotton dress,apron and knit cap. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: the ladies of the First Presbyterian Church of Bucyrus,Ohio made
the beautifully executed cloth dolls at the end of the 19th century as a fund-raiser for their
church. Value Points: very fine original condition of the rare doll with most appealing painted of
features.
