16" (41 cm.) Pale pressed bisque socket head with very full cheeks,blue glass enamel inset
eyes,spiral threading,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve blushed eye shadow,brush-
stroked and feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with defined
space between the outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,all-wooden
body with shapely torso,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,wrists,hips,knees and
ankles,uniquely carved fingers and defined toes,costume included. Condition: early faint
hairline from crown to left eye brow,otherwise excellent. Marks: 1 (head) J2C3J (?,incised on
back torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,his Bebe Modele with deposed fully articulated
body,circa 1878. Value Points: especially beautiful face and delicate painting,splendid
eyes,very rare body in wonderfully preserved condition.
