Bisque socket head with elongated facial modeling,brown glass inset eyes,painted lashes,brush-stroked brows,accented nostrils,open mouth,outlined lips,row of tiny porcelain teeth,pierced ears,auburn mohair wig,French composition body with jointing at shoulders and hips,straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent,body not original albeit appropriate size and style,and of the period. Marks: S 7 H 939. Comments: Simon and Halbig,on signed Steiner body,circa 1890. Value Points: the pretty long-faced child is wearing a gorgeous French patterned silk frock with lace inserts,undergarments,original leather shoes.
