17" (43 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,very full throat and cheeks,pronounced chin,sculpted definition of eye sockets with painted blue eyes having decorative glaze at lower edge,heavy eyelids with thick black eyeliner,painted curly lashes,lightly feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth,accented lips,heart-shaped upper lip,unpierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,all-wooden fully articulated body with dowel jointing at shoulders,elbows,wrists,hips,knees and ankles,wearing Huret style silk gown with muslin blouse,undergarments,stockings,black leather slippers,toque hat. Condition: generally excellent,chip in wood on left arm,body is not original albeit appropriately sized and of the period. Marks: Huret (green stamp on kid collarette of torso). Comments: Adelaide Huret,circa 1860. Value Points: an especially beautiful full- throated model of the classic Huret poupee with gorgeous eyes,delicate blushing of chin,ear lobes,eye lids and cheeks,12-point articulation of early wooden body,fine antique costume.
