Description
12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden head with polished natural finish,tinted eyes and brows,bald pate
with defined holes at pate,firmly stuffed muslin torso,wooden hands. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: Shanghai Door of Hope mission doll,circa 1920,wearing his original
costume comprising long cotton robe over blue and white under jackets,blue pants with fitted
ankles,cotton slippers,black silk hat. Value Points: a rarer model,the doll has his original paper
label Priest" inside jacket,and was acquired by the Cleveland Museum of Art in 1922.
