Description
9" (23 cm.) Each of eight people has solid wax head with uniquely sculpted facial features
depicting various villagers,travelers and nobility,each with sculpted hair (except one lady with
stiffened ringlet curls),tiny inset enamel glass eyes,and distinctive expressions,wooden block
torso,wrapped wire armature upper arms and legs,carved wooden lower arms and legs,painted
shoes,and posed on original wooden stand. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: early
19th century,Continental. Value Points: each figure is authentically and elaborately costumed to
represent its social position,in rich silks,velvets and having lavish metallic trims.
