10" (25 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with gleaming complexion,black sculpted hair waved away
from face with stippled detailing around forehead,defined ears,gold hairband at back of
head,painted facial features,blue eyes with thick red and black upper eyeliner,single stroke
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with piquant smile,carton upper torso and skirt cone
enclosing mechanism,leather arms,metal feet. When wound,the doll alternately lifts feet and
"walks". Marks: Patented July 15th 1862... (mark on base). Comments: Autoperipatetikous,circa
1865. Value Points: the early American toy has especially beautiful head,original
costume,functions well.
