Description
8" (20 cm.) Each has carved wooden head,muslin body,one child with wooden hands. Including
8" child with darkened complexion,black painted hair with unusual double parts,painted small
side combs and attached queue,wearing silk tunic over two additional shirts,short purple silk
pants,slippers,embroidered cap with attached hair; 8" child with black painted pate and
attached queue,long pink silk tunic with blue edging and high collar over cotton tunic,pale
blue pants with silk slippers; and 12" Amah with elongated face,darkened complexion,painted
black hair with defined bangs and coiled chignon with gold hair pin,wearing blue silk tunic
over cotton shirt,black silk skirt with unusual plisse inserts,two layers of pants,slippers,and
black velvet cap with richly encrusted glass beading. Condition: generally excellent.
Comments: Chinese Door of Hope mission,circa 1920. Value Points: rare models with
wonderfully detailed and preserved original costumes.
