13" (33 cm.) Having wood composition (toso) head covered inshell white (gofun) with painted features,largish inset glass eyes,silk fiber hair drawn into a topknot.,depicted seated cross- legged with silk brocade textiles,lacquered paper armor with metal fittings and simulated tiger pelt thigh guards. Condition: good,some wear and discoloration to gofun,missing left wrist guard. Comments: Japan,late Edo period,early Meiji Era,mid-19th century,depicted is the celebrated military leader Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1536-98). Value Points: good size and depiction of the early portrait musha-ningyo (warrior-doll).
