12" (30 cm.) Polychromed shoulderhead (terra cotta or wooden) of slender-faced man, sculpted short brown curly hair brushed forward, enamel eyes, closed mouth with solemn expression, partially sculpted ears, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, bare feet, wearing original royal guardsman costume highlighted by pressed metal chest armor over green velvet tunic, thick metallic gilt fringe, flowing burgundy silk robe, leather sandals. Excellent condition, silk on burgundy robe is frail. Neapolitan, early 1700s, rare sculpting of hair and metal chest armor.
