Description
12" (30 cm.) Seated upon the crest of a paper mache grassy knoll is a bisque-headed lady with
brown glass paperweight eyes,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth with center accent line,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork
pate,wearing original silk and lace costume and holding silk covered fan and posy of flowers.
When wound,the lady turns head from side to side,fans herself,and alternately sniffs
flowers,while music plays. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F. 1 G. (block letters,doll)
(original tune label initialed B.P. on base). Comments: Vichy,circa 1880,the tunes are Le Petit
Faust,Francois les Bas Bleus,and Les 28 Jours Marche. Value Points: beautiful face,pleasing
motions and rare three tune music on the early automaton.
