Description
16" (41 cm.) Carved wooden socket head,intaglio sculpted brown eyes with black pupils and white eyedots,incised eyeliner,tinted brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with accent line between the petulant lips,chin dimple,tacked-on brunette mohair wig,all-wooden spring-jointed body,nicely costumed in the Schoenhut manner. Condition: generally excellent,wig sparse,finish worn on hands and feet. Marks: (Schoenhut incised markings). Comments: Schoenhut,circa 1912,from the transition era,the model was made for one or two years only. Value Points: very appealing sweet yet serious expression,enhanced by fine original facial painting and deeply sculpted features.
