24" (61 cm.) Rose tinted poured wax shoulderhead with unusual character-like expression,blue
glass enamel inset eyes with heavy eyelids,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth with accent line between the lips,inserted brunette hair,softly stuffed
muslin body with poured wax arms and legs,bare feet,wearing antique cream wool
dress,undergarments,rose silk bonnet. Condition: generally excellent,left thumb worn. Marks:
(illegible store or maker's label on torso). Comments: English,circa 1880. Value Points: unusual
and compelling portrait expression on the larger wax doll,ex-Maureen Popp collection.
