12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden head with very high forehead,painted small black pate at top back
of head with cascading queue,carved age wrinkles,heavy eye lids,painted eyes and lips,all muslin
body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Door of Hope mission doll,circa 1915,depicting
an "Old Gentleman" of high social rank wearing original plum silk and pale blue hand-stitched
costume. Value Points: rare model with compelling expression,superb detail of hand-sewing of
original costume.
