12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden socket head with high domed forehead,painted black hair at back of
scalp with hole for queue,carved facial features,painted brows,eyes and mouth,muslin
body,wooden lower arms. Condition: generally excellent,queue missing,tunic faded. Comments:
Door of Hope mission doll,Shanghai,circa 1925,depicting a young Chinese gentleman of high
social rank. Value Points: with distinctive horizontally carved lines on his forehead and defined
eye hollows and dimples at lip corners,the young man wears his original short black jacket over
blue tunic,teal pants,slippers.
