16" (41 cm.) All wooden doll with egg-shaped head on block torso,carved definition of nose and
eye sockets,inset bulging blue glass enamel eyes,painted brows,lips,blushed cheeks,dowel-
jointed crudely-shaped wooden arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
England,early 20th century from the series of wooden dolls known as "School for Scandal". Value
Points: the rare and highly characterized doll wears her original brocade tapestry gown with
metallic trim and elaborate coiffe; provenance ex-Legoland Museum of Antique Dolls.
