11" (28 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, very large blue glass enamel inset eyes dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line on lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, kid gusset- jointed child body with bisque lower arms, nicely costumed in Sunday best dress with undergarments, little kid shoes. Condition: generally excellent, slight body patch on kid. Marks: 2 (head and shoulders). Comments: Sonnenberg, circa 1885, the model was made to capture the French market, and closely resembles early portrait like Jumeau bebes. Value Points: most endearing expression highlighted by large expressive eyes.
