Description
8" (20 cm.) doll. Porcelain shoulderhead with delicate pink tinting, black painted short curls, painted brown eyes, tiny closed mouth, wooden torso and upper limbs with dowel articulation, porcelain lower limbs, lovely antique gown and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rare articulated body of the doll which is holding a little all-bisque baby. Along with an early wooden swinging cradle with beaded paper trim and paper-wrapped silk hood; and walnut and bone spinning wheel with intricate carved detail.
