16" (41 cm.) Carved wooden socket head with deeply defined features,intaglio pale blue eyes
with large black pupils and white eyedots,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth with accent line between the lips,full upper lip,original tacked-on block
mohair side-parted wig,all-wooden spring-jointed body,wearing antique undergarments over
original knit teddy,Schoenhut stockings and Schoenhut shoes with grommet-edged holes in
soles,original Schoenhut pin. Condition: generally excellent,one craze line on nose bridge.
Comments: Schoenhut,their model 401 advertised as boy model (actually identical to girl
model 304 with variation of wig) was also presented as a girl by the firm. The model was
made only briefly until 1912,and was based upon the character model 114 by Kammer and
Reinhardt. Value Points: very rare Schoenhut model in wonderfully preserved condition.
