Italian Felt Asian Girl, Series 300, by Lenci with Stylized Facial Model

17" (43 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features, amber-tinted complexion, narrow brown eyes in defined side-slant sockets, heavy eyelids, brown eyeliner, painted lower lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth with bow-shaped lips, black mohair wig with widow's peak at center forehead, and captured in a chignon that is decorated with felt flowers. Condition: generally excellent, few tiny moth holes on pants below the obi. Marks: Lenci (paper tag with green lettering) 100 L7 (pencil script). Comments: Lenci, early 1940s, second issue of the Asian Girl originally issued as series 300/60. Value Points: very rare model has beautiful complexion and painting, wearing original wool felt costume with embroidered flowers on pale green kimono to match her purple tunic, yellow pants and pink obi sash.
