Pressed bisque socket head with delicate pale complexion ,large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted dark curly lashes, widely arched brush- stroked brows with modeling detail, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, shaded and accented lips, well-defined philtrum and chin dimple, separately modeled pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 16 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his signature uniquely sculpted bebe designed by noted Parisian sculptor Carriere-Belleuse, circa 1885. Value Points: rare largest size of the wistful-faced child is enhanced by superb quality of bisque and delicate complexion, original body finish, wearing fine antique cutwork costume, undergarments, velvet and silk bonnet, along with her factory original chemise (a bit frail) that still bears the gilt "Bebe Jumeau" banner.
