21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump cheeks and chin, delicate complexion, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, dark eyeliner, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, row of painted tiny teeth between the shaded lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, early composition and wooden fully-jointed plump body with straight wrists, fine antique costume comprising brown woolen coat, white embroidered dress, undergarments, stockings, brown leather shoes, brown velvet bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 14. Comments: Kestner, circa 1882, the model resembles the so-called "circle-dot" bebe by Bru whose market Kestner aimed to capture. Value Points: well-rendered artistic portrayal, finest delicate bisque and complexion, original early body and body finish.
