Description
11" (28 cm.) and 13". Each is an elongated figure with kidskin cover over padded armature form,having stitch-shaped nose and bead decorated facial features,black yarn hair in long braids,and wearing elaborate costumes of wool felt,kid skin and beaded decorations. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: representing Shoshone Indians,the dolls were created under the auspices of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board,circa 1950s and each carries its original paper label indicating its provenance and artist. Value Points: colorful and well-preserved folk dolls with original maker's labels are well preserved.
