Description
15" (38 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady with oval-shaped face,elongated
throat,black sculpted and painted hair drawn away from centerpart and captured under a
snugly fitted bonnet that is decorated with a purple ruffled brim and throat ribbons,colorful
purple flowers and sienna ribbons at the nape,painted large oval blue eyes,red and black
eyeliner,single stroke brows,aquiline nose with accented nostrils,closed mouth,muslin stitch-
jointed body,porcelain lower arms and legs,wearing antique silk gown and undergarments.
Condition: generally excellent excepting rubs on right brow and cheek. Marks: KPM (inside
shoulder plate). Comments: Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur,circa 1850. Value Points:
exceptionally rare early porcelain doll; few marked examples of any KPM dolls exist,this model
is virtually unknown and features wonderful decoration of the bonnet.
